1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information necessary to provide and support our internet and VoIP services.
1.1 Information you provide directly
This includes: name, contact details, installation address, billing details, support enquiries, plan selections.
Identity Verification Requirement
To prevent fraud, protect customers, and meet legal obligations, we may require photo ID (driver licence, passport, etc.) when you sign up for multiple properties, if unusual activity is detected, or if required by law or our wholesale partners.
1.2 Information collected automatically
We collect IP addresses, device/browser details, cookies, analytics data, navigation behaviour.
1.3 Network, service and technical information
We collect IP assignments, connection timestamps, usage volumes, routing information, diagnostics, outage logs. We do not inspect content except where legally required.
1.4 Information from third parties
We may receive information from wholesale providers, payment processors, credit reporters, debt collection agencies, property data sources, and our payment provider, GoCardless, which collects your bank account details to set up your direct debit.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information to provide services, installation, activation, support, billing, fraud prevention, identity verification, and account management.
2.1 Service delivery
Processing orders, managing service access, network routing, technical support.
2.2 Service improvement
Aggregated, de-identified data is used for performance analysis, upgrades, and product development.
2.3 Communications
We may contact you regarding updates, outages, billing, verification, or with marketing if you have opted in.
2.4 Legal and compliance
We comply with valid legal orders, protect our network, enforce our Terms, and assist with debt recovery.
3. Lawful Interception & Network Logging
We maintain logs as required by NZ law and provide information only under lawful authority.
4. Sharing Your Information
We share data with fibre wholesalers, upstream providers, billing processors, credit agencies, debt collectors, technical partners, and law enforcement when required. We also share information with GoCardless, to set up and collect direct debit payments. Your bank details are entered directly with GoCardless and are held by them, not on our website. We do not sell your data.
5. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored securely using encryption, access controls, auditing, and reputable hosting providers in NZ, AU, or equivalent jurisdictions.
6. Your Rights
We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020. You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you by contacting our Privacy Officer. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
